What is this?

This is the website for Simple To-Do Service, an entirely SMS-based to-do list manager. Users send text messages to us with commands, and we respond with the updated list. There is no application to download.

Why do this?

The Simple To-Do Service was borne out of a frustration about having to download and app for everything now. Why does my fridge have an application? Why do I need a smart-phone to rent a moving truck? Why does my toothbrush want to connect to my Wi-Fi? These applications with their barrage of unwanted notifications (we noticed you haven’t moved in 4-months, want to see our specials on moving trucks?), creepy data harvesting (your grocery store app made 834 requests for your location yesterday), and icon clutter are much more trouble than they seem to be worth.

So we set out to create a service that doesn’t take anymore space on the hard drive.

What does it cost?

Our service is provided for a monthly subscription of $3.99.

HOw do I sign-up?

You can sign up through this website or by texting us, and then filling out a small form.

What does sms-based mean?

That means there is no application to download to use our service. The software runs entirely on our servers and you interact with it through text-messaging.

What does a to-do look like?

what data do you collect?

We collect the following data:

• Phone number
• The description of to-do items you provide
• Whether that item is done or not
• Email address
• When you text us
• Name
• Your payment method
  • Your billing address, only for use with to facilitate payment
  • Our payments vendor, Paypal actually stores your CC info, we don’t.

We don’t want to know what you’re eating, when you’re showering, where you’ve been, what TV shows you watch, what books you don’t like, your income level, intelligence level, or athletic ability. We’re content just helping you manage what you gotta do.

DO you sell our data?

No.

How do i cancel my subscription?

Just text us “CANCEL”.

how do i use the service?

Each text you send us needs to contain one of our to-do commands: get, add, subitem, update, done, or delete. You can also text us help or cancel.

what future features are in the works?
